We have hired Mandiant and a whole team is trying to get information as fast as we can. When we do we will immediately communicate something that we know for sure. It could very well have been injected on our own infrastructure. We did not create the impression that ffmpeg was to blame we answered a question in which dll the trojan was injected and it was ffmpeg.dll and i clearly stated in my twitter response that we are still researching and not pointing any fingers.
Yes, we uploaded the file to virustotal on after seeing the alert from Sentinel1 and actually all indicators we're green.
